I suspect you are right that many of those in power like their association with ACC schools and may look down their nose at the "shady SEC." (This is the same kind of thinking, albeit on the part of others, that brought us an ACC with Boston College and Syracuse.) That does not make the ACC a better league for Tech and it certainly doesn't mean Tech could not succeed in the SEC. What it does mean is that many in a position of power would prefer that the ACC improve itself or, alternatively, that Tech position itself to jump to the B1G if circumstances ever allow it. I am not confident the ACC can or will improve, but I do agree that the B1G would be a better landing spot for Tech than the SEC.
